Aamir Khan, Apsara Reddy, Javed Akhtar, Jerry Pinto, Kalki Koechlin, Dr Mahesh Rangarajan, Mansoor Khan, and Sudha Murty, among others, will participate in dialogues, talks, and discussions at the event.

The eighth edition of the Ooty Literary Festival will take place on October 6 and 7 in the scenic town of Ooty. This year's festival will commemorate the bicentennial of the hill station and highlight its rich tapestry of literature, culture, history, and tradition.

According to the official press release, "Ooty Lit Fest 2023 will go beyond literary discussion to highlight the ecological significance of the Nilgiri Biosphere and diverse communities."

It will include digital debates, intellectual discussions with renowned authors, live interactions, exhibitions, artistic performances, and a varied spectrum of Indian classical, blues, and jazz concerts, bringing the hills to life. "Over the years, OotyLitFest has emerged as an important platform to present, preserve, and promote Tamil Nadu's literature," it said.

Aamir Khan, Apsara Reddy, Javed Akhtar, Jerry Pinto, Kalki Koechlin, Dr Mahesh Rangarajan, Mansoor Khan, and Sudha Murty, among others, will participate in dialogues, talks, and discussions at the event.

This year's festival will honour Thiru Perumal Murugan, one of Tamil Nadu's best writers, with the Lifetime Achievement Award "for his unwavering dedication to promoting education and fostering literary arts and culture in Tamil Nadu, even in the face of adversity."

The World of Words at Nilgiri Library is a literary event that brings together renowned authors, historians, cinema personalities, corporate and social leaders, and conservationists for conversations, storytelling, and deep dives into themes that pique the mind.

Minds on Fire in the Courtyard: This portion is intended for young people and will feature accomplished speakers teaching young minds on how to engage with both the natural world and their inner self.

Remembering and Reimagining Nilgiri's Socio-Cultural History: A visual journey through the Nilgiris' shifting terrain over the last 200 years, curated by Jenny Pinto. Some of these have never been seen together to tell the stories of the past.

An Artist Recreates the Magic of Ooty: At The Nilgiri Library, celebrated cartoonist Paul Fernandes will display his distinctive old pictures that encapsulate the essence of Ooty.

Hills Come Alive with Music: Musical extravaganzas with top artists performing Blues, Sufi, and Jazz as the sun sets over the Nilgiri hills.
